Inc. Sciences International
Some key documents 1996 /E: Sciences International Inc. is proposing to further mine the data from the Oak-Ridge 16-cities study [And they seem to have succeeded in getting this project funded by CIAR — see below]
They will use the "Tardiff analysis", and will progress the 'research' in a number of stages. - Meetings with Jenkins et al, and review of the literature — $19,000
- Qualitative assessment of monitoring data — $75,000
- Qualatative review of questionnair and diary data — $75,000
- Development of a data management system — $135,000
- Perform detailed statistical analysis of 16-cities data
- Extension of results to other international data sets (costs to be determined)
Communications: The results of the study will be presented to an authoritative peer reviewed journal for publication. We also propose presenting the results in symposia, forums, workshops and other appropriate meetings in the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia, as appropriate.
Our goal will be to make four presentations to groups such as the International Society for Risk Analysis Annual Meeting in the United States and The Joint US. European Meeting scheduled for London in the year 2000.
Each presentation would be costed separately and will generally be in the range of $12,500 to $15,000 plus travel expenses.
In addition, we would ask CIAR to pay page charges for peer reviewed publications. On the assumptions that we will publish one peer reviewed paper to present the above study, we have included labor for this effort. Should there be multiple publications that seem fruitful from the effort, we would consult with CIAR for potentially providing additional support.
1997 Oct: 6-8 Society for Risk Analysis presentation by Robert G Tardiff of The Sapphire Group Inc. His collaborators were:
• ML Dourson and SP Felter (TERA)
• ME Ginevan of ME Ginean & Associates
• RA Jenkins of ORNL
• JS LaKind of The Sapphire Group
• DQ Naiman, Johns Hopkins University
The are doing an extension to the Oak Ridge 16-city study(GIGO).
1999 Feb 19: Suresh Moolgakar ran the 'Moolgavkar Consulting Group' in Bellevue, WA. which was "A Division of Sciences International" Sciences International Inc, was in Alexandria VA.[See http://www.sciences.com]
It specialised in toxicology — especially low-dose effects pesticides
Their puff material claims "Dr Suresh Moolgavkar pioneered and published the
biologically-based model, referred to as the MVK Model, for modeling low-dose effects. The model has been applied widely to carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other agents.
