[Temporary: while site is under construction] Institut fur Biologische Forschung
(INBIFO + Contract Research Center) The Institut fur Biologische Forschung (INBIFO) was acquired by Philip Morris in 1971, and based in Cologne. The aim was to have a laboratory and repository of documents outside the reach of the American legal system. The Contract Research Center (CRC) which was a subsidiary of INBIFO, developed a live-animal research facility in Brussels in 1988 because live animal research had been banned in the USA under the Gentleman's Agreement (between the tobacco companies).
